Bio
Jau-Shin Lou received the M.D. degree from the School of Medicine, National Taiwan University, in 1979, the Ph.D. degree in neurophysiology from the University of Minnesota, in 1986, and the M.B.A. degree in healthcare from Oregon Health & Science University, in 2012.
From 1986 to 1987, he held a postdoctoral fellow position. From 1987 to 1991, he completed his residency training in neurology with the Baylor College of Medicine. From 1991 to 1993, he was a Clinical Associate with NIH. From 1993 to 1997, he was an Assistant Professor with the University of Rochester. From 1997 to 1999, he was a Clinical Faculty with the Barrow Neurological Institute. From 1999 to 2013, he was with the Department of Neurology, Oregon Health & Science University, and raised from the rank of an Assistant Professor to a Professor. In 2013, he became the Founding Chair and a Professor of neurology with the School of Medicine, University of North Dakota, and Sanford Health, where he is currently an Endowed Chair of neurology. As a Neurologist, he sees patients with stroke, Parkinson’s disease, and neuromuscular diseases. He has published more than 50 peer-reviewed articles and ten review articles and book chapters. His research interests includes Parkinson’s disease, such as fatigue and orthostatic hypotension.
