Joseph W. Boardman

Joseph W. Boardman received the Ph.D. degree in geophysics from the University of Colorado, Boulder, Colorado, in 1991. After his Ph.D. studies, he had a two-year postdoctoral research fellowship with the CSIRO, Sydney, Australia. From 1993 to 1995, he was a Research Associate with CSES, University of Colorado, Boulder. Since 1995, he has been a Senior Geophysicist with Analytical Imaging and Geophysics, LLC, Boulder. He has conducted sponsored research with a variety of commercial and government organizations, developing and applying spectral mixture analysis and photogrammetric methods to imaging spectrometer data, including AVIRIS, HyMap, Hyperion, Moon Mineral Mapper (M3), and ARTEMIS. He is also one of the scientists that originally developed the image analysis software “ENVI.”
