We develop informatics tools and predictive modeling methods for cancer research and treatment. One area of effort, working with Maria Thor and Masoud Zarepisheh, is to develop safer and more effective radiotherapy treatments through better prediction models to guide treatment planning. We also worked with the late mathematician Allen Tannenbaum and the Oncologist Larry Norton to apply optimal mass transport methods on data networks in order to identify cancer subtypes and differences in treatment response. This work continues despite the tragic loss of Dr. Tannenbaum. A third area of focus is working with Harini Veeraraghavan and Jung Hun Oh to develop and apply new AI methods to understand longitudinal disease changes and treatment responses. We also develop extensive informatics tools, with Aditya Apte, for image and radiotherapy treatment planning analyses. In all projects, we seek to advance concepts, progress towards clinical translation, make data and code reusable, and advance the careers of trainees and junior faculty. We welcome collaborations.
