Jose E. Velazco

Jose E. Velazco received the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from George Mason University, VA, USA, in 1990 and 1994, respectively. He is currently the Technical Supervisor of the applied electromagnetic group, Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL), Pasadena, CA, USA. He is also the Principal Investigator with JPL and has more than 20 years of experience in carrying out R&D projects. For more than a decade, he worked on implementing wideband receivers for electronic surveillance applications, including wide-open and superheterodyne receivers where he acquired expertise in direction-of-arrival (direction finding) hardware and software. Recently, he worked on an advanced multimegabit optical communicator for ground applications.
