Catalysis and surface science. Interaction and reaction of molecules with surfaces of metals, oxides, sulfides and carbides. Use of synchrotron-based techniques in surface and materials characterization (core and valence photoemission, x-ray absorption spectroscopy, x-ray diffraction). Modeling of surface reactions.
