John H. Chi

Greetings! I am currently a PhD student in Applied Linguistics and Language Education at the University of Maryland, College Park. I am a previous English Language Fellow with the U.S. State Department in Beijing, China and, prior to that, a research assistant in the Language Assessment Division at the Center for Applied Linguistics (CAL). My research interests are constantly expanding, but they primarily focus around heritage language education and bilingualism. I also have interest in community-based/complementary language schools, minority dialect speakers, identity, humanizing pedagogy, raciolinguistics, teacher education, professional development, and program evaluation... and the list goes on.
