个人简介
My research career spans more than 20 years, first as a doctoral student and now as a teaching and research academic at university. While my initial research interest was in organisational communication and its influences on staff job attitudes/emotional outcomes (such as job satisfaction, commitment and occupational stress) with a focus on school leadership, this has branched out into other areas. My main research activity is currently concerned with:
* School communication and job attitudes in educational settings,
* Leadership communication and whole-school behaviour management
* Middle leadership and its influences on teacher work and student outcomes,
* Leadership in the evolving independent school landscape, and
* Values oriented education
I have authored two books and published more than 50 journal articles and conference papers and am on the editorial team for two international journals. As well as this I have produced 4 reports of research to educational authorities in Australia and overseas. I have also reviewed more than 50 manuscripts for international refereed journals and peer-reviewed several scholarly texts for a range of publishers.
I utilise quantitative, qualitative and mixed-methods research designs. My particular methodological expertise includes: exploratory factor analysis, multiple regression analysis, structural equation modelling including confirmatory factor analysis, means comparisons for effect size, document and content analyses and alternative interview techniques, such as interview by email.
