Dr. John Kyndt is an Associate Professor and the Director of the Sustainability Management program at Bellevue University. Dr. Kyndt received his PhD in Biochemistry from the University of Ghent (Belgium), and his research background is in the area of microbiology, next-generation sequencing, photobiology and microbial photosensors, as well as developing algae for enhanced biofuel production. Dr. Kyndt obtained and managed several grants in the alternative energy field (particularly algal biofuels), sponsored by the Department of Energy (DOE) and research foundations. Dr. Kyndt has so far published over 50 peer review research articles, one patent (in photobiochemistry) and one ebook (on the use of algae for biofuels and green chemical production).
