Joan Oliver received the degree in physics and the Ph.D. degree in computer engineering from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona in 1984 and 1990, respectively. Since 1991, he has been an Associate Professor with the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. Nowadays, he works with the Microelectronics and Electronic Systems Department. He has been working in several national projects related to sensors networks, publishing some papers in this area. Dr. Oliver’s actual main research interests are in the areas of real time signal processing algorithms and in the development of new circuit design techniques for frequency-signal acquisition front-ends. He is the Co-Founder of Alternative Energy Innovations SL (AEinnova), spin-off of the Department Microelectronics and Electronic, Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona.
