Jingyi Chen

Jingyi Chen received the Ph.D. degree in solid geophysics from the Institute of Geology and Geophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing, China, in 2005. He is currently a Decker Dawson Professor of geophysics with The University of Tulsa, Tulsa, OK, USA, where he is also the Director of the Seismic Anisotropy Group, The University of Tulsa. He was a Post-Doctoral Fellow with Memorial University of Newfoundland, St. John’s, NL, Canada, before joining The University of Tulsa. His research interests focus on both conventional and unconventional reservoirs, including numerical simulation of seismic wave propagation, reverse time migration (RTM), full waveform inversion (FWI), deep learning, amplitude versus offset (AVO), vertical seismic profile (VSP), microseismic, multiple-component seismic data processing, and reservoir characterization. His research has been supported by oil/gas companies, professional society, and the National Science Foundation.
