I am a computer scientist with special interest in natural language processing (NLP) and text mining (TM). I graduated from Korea University in 1994, with a major in computer science. At that time, my graduation work was about [Gesture Interface for Mouse] and started to be interested in artificial intelligence. Then I studied natural language processing (NLP) and received an MSc and a PhD from Korea University in 1996 and 2000 respectively. In 2001, I joined Tsujii Laboratory in University of Tokyo. Since then I have been working mainly for the GENIA project, a bio-TM project. I like to think myself rather a scientist than an engineer, so I have an research inclination toward "discovery" rather than "improvement."
