My overall research aim is to understand maintained cognitive performance in the face of age-related changes in brain structure and blood flow through neuroplastic changes in brain activity and how lifetime exposures moderate this plasticity. This allows the following question to be addressed: Why do some individuals achieve old age cognitively intact while others are not as fortunate? Can we intervene to help people age “successfully?”
