Jason Clark

Jason Clark currently works at the Department of Agronomy, Horticulture, and Plant Science, South Dakota State University. Jason does research in Soil Science, Plant Fertilization, and Agronomy. My research and extension education program is focused on determining nutrient management methods that can maintain and increase crop production while conserving and reducing inputs (water, fertilizers, chemicals) in a way that minimizes environmental impact and is profitable for farmers. Specifically, 1) determine the optimal rate and timing of fertilizer application for profitable crop production and optimal water quality, 2) evaluate the effect of source and placement of fertilizers on crop production and air and water quality, and 3) determine the Influence of cropping systems on soil health.
