Jared Brent Smith

Jared B. Smith currently works at REGENXBIO, Inc., a leader in AAV-based gene therapy, as a Principal Scientist in Target Discovery leading their CNS portfolio. Previously, he was a Research Associate in the Molecular Neurobiology Laboratory at the Salk Institute. His research focuses on Neuroscience, Gene Therapy, Evolutionary Biology and Anatomy, including identifying functions of the claustrum as well as the role of the basal ganglia and its cortical and thalamic inputs in motor learning.
