James Scott (Member, IEEE) received the B.Eng (Hons.) and M.Eng. (by research) degrees from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (now RMIT University), Melbourne, VIC, Australia, in 1979 and 1983, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree from the University of Melbourne in 2003. From December 1981 to February 1982, he was a Microwave and RF Design Engineer with Consolidated Technology (Aust.) Pty. Ltd working on radar navigation systems. In March 1982, he undertook his Ph.D. studies at the University of Melbourne. He joined the Department of Communication and Electronic Engineering (now the School of Engineering), RMIT University, in February 1987, where he is currently the Associate Dean of Electronic and Telecommunications Engineering. His research interests include radar systems, RF energy harvesting, nonlinear device modeling, and active and passive circuit design and simulation. He was the Inaugural Chair of the joint MTT-S/AP-S Chapter in the Victorian section of the IEEE from in 1998 and was the Student Activities Chair on the Victorian Section Committee from 1999 to 2003. He was also on the Organizing Committee for the Asia Pacific Microwave Conference APMC2011, which was held in Melbourne. He is a Reviewer of the IEEE Transactions on Components, Packaging and Manufacturing Technology and the IEEE Transactions on Microwave Theory and Techniques.
