个人简介
Dr. James Vincent Patten is a research fellow at Lero, the Science Foundation Ireland Research Centre for Software. As a member of the Trustworthy Responsible Efficient Engineering of Software (TREES) group he is involved in research and development of techniques and tools to tackle software clone detection in large-scale codebases. He is also engaged in research to investigate applications of evolutionary computation (EA) techniques, in coordination with large language models (LLM)s, to generate high quality synthetic data that can be used to train supervised learning models.
He is also involved in promoting and supporting research and initiatives that help widen access to STEM education and career opportunities, with a particular focus on inclusivity and diversity. In line with this, he is part of the Lero team which manages the Women in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, Manufacturing and Design (WiSTEM2D) scholarship programme, run in collaboration with Johnson & Johnson.
