Jaehwan Kim received the B.S. degree in mechanical engineering from Inha University, Incheon, Korea, in 1985, the M.S. degree in mechanical engineering from Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST), Daejeon, Korea, in 1987, and the Ph.D. degree in engineering science and mechanics from the Pennsylvania State University, in 1995. In March 1996, he joined the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Inha University, where he is currently a Professor. He is directing the Creative Research Center for EAPap Actuator funded by Korean Science and Engineering Foundation. His current research interests include piezoelectric smart materials, structures, and devices, electroactive polymers, microwave-driven electroactive paper actuators, and polymer microelectromechanical systems (MEMS). Dr. Kim is the member of American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), American Standards Association (ASA), and KSME, and an Associate Editor of Smart Materials and Structures.
