Kurlander Jacob E

JACOB E KURLANDER. Dr. Kurlander completed his medical school, internal medicine training, and gastroenterology fellowship at the University of Michigan. He has also pursued advanced training in clinical and health services research. In addition to his work at the University, he has the privilege of serving our nation’s veterans through a joint appointment at the Ann Arbor VA Health System. His clinical interests include general gastroenterology and the treatment of esophageal diseases, including esophageal motility disorders, reflux disease, Barrett’s esophagus, and eosinophilic esophagitis. Dr. Kurlander’s research aims to improve the effectiveness of healthcare delivery across an array of common GI conditions. His work has focused on ways to improve colonoscopy bowel preparation, endoscopy unit efficiency, and the prevention of gastrointestinal bleeding in patients on blood thinners using acid-reducing medications.
