Jiangong Wei is now working in Guangzhou Marine Geological Survey and is focusing on the marine gas hydrate, deep water seeps and mud volcanoes. Jiangong Wei participated the China gas hydrate drilling expeditions (GMGS4 and GMGS5), manned submersible "ShenHaiYongShi" diving and China gas hydrate test production in the South China Sea.
