Bio
Jason Ralph is a Professor of Avionics in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Electronics at the University of Liverpool. He has worked at the University since late 1999, starting as a Lecturer and being promoted to Senior Lecturer, Reader, and finally Professor in 2013. He also served as Head of Department between 2011 and 2015. Jason has a background in Theoretical Physics and worked in Italy and New Zealand before joining the Defence Evaluation and Research Agency (DERA) early in 1997. In DERA, he worked on airborne targeting systems, weapon systems engineering, image/signal processing and target tracking. He has published nearly 200 academic papers, including several book chapters and over 80 refereed journal papers covering a range of subjects from quantum state estimation to guidance and navigation systems. Jason has led a large number of industrial projects concerned with simulation and modelling for algorithm development; including projects concerned with modelling aerospace systems and sub-systems.
