C. Mark Ott

As the lead of the NASA JSC Microbiology Laboratory and Chair of the JSC Biosafety Review Board, I oversee efforts to mitigate microbial risks that could compromise astronaut health and spacecraft integrity during human spaceflight. I have published extensively in the areas of microbial ecology in spacecraft, human and microbial responses to spaceflight, and the development of advanced tissue culture models to investigate infectious disease.
