Joachim C. Mertens

Joachim Mertens is Researcher and clinical consultant at the University Hospital Zurich. He leads the hepatological basic research group. He worked as a postdoctoral research fellow in the Group of Prof. Greg Gores at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN USA. His research interest are primary sclerosing cholangitis and primary liver malignomas especially cholangio- and hepatocellular carcinoma, focusing on tumor-stroma interaction and fibrosis in oncogenesis and cancer progression.
