Johannes H Hegemann currently works at the Department of Biology, Institute of Functional Microbial Genomics, Heinrich-Heine-Universitat Dusseldorf. Johannes does research in Microbiology and Cell Biology with yeast and Chlamydiae. Their current projects include (i) the functional characterization of chlamydial adhesion to and entry of human cells with a specific emphasis on the chlamydial adhesins and their human receptors, and chlamydial effector proteins and their cellular targets; (ii) the development of an anti-chlamydia vaccine.
