I am Senior Lecturer in Biostatistics at the University of Manchester's Centre for Biostatistics. I am interested in the teaching and learning of statistics to meet the needs of students and staff, and how statistics can be communicated effectively to all audiences.
I work closely with colleagues in the Centre for Epidemiology versus Arthritis on research that aims to prevent and cure musculoskeletal diseases, and improve the lives of those with these conditions. In particular, I work on developing statistical models to help predict new cases of disease or the progression of existing disease. Such models help doctors and patients make better-informed decisions, improving outcomes for patients and delivering more cost-effective care.
