Dr Imran Akhtar is a senior academic with over 10 years of teaching experience, mainly in Postgraduate Taught and Postgraduate Research. He has a keen interest in Graduate Entrepreneurship and Strategy. In his current role at the Institute of Management, University of Bolton, he is the Director of research and the Director of the Doctoral programme. He is the founding General Chair of the Institute of Management Doctoral Symposium and founding Chair of the Research Development and Enhancement Committee (RDEC). He is also the academic lead for the Research Cluster, Strategy, Entrepreneurship, Marketing and Management (SEMM), which is one of the three Research clusters he has designed. He has also championed the PhD ICE (Informal Coffee Events), a series of events where the Doctoral Community and the Staff are brought together to talk about nothing else but research. In general, he is responsible for the PhD cohort and advancing and fostering the research across the three research strands.
