个人简介
Ignacio Hernandez-Morato, Ph.D., currently serves as Research Assistant at Columbia University Medical Center, where he specializes in basic science research regarding the regeneration in the Peripheral Nervous System following nerve injury.
Dr. Hernandez-Morato studied Biology and obtained his Master of Science degree in Autonomous University of Madrid. He defended his thesis at the School of Medicine of the Complutense University of Madrid about the neuroanatomy of the brainstem related to the motor control of the larynx before and following cranial nerve injury. After Dr. Hernandez-Morato received his Ph.D. he started to work at New York Medical College analysing the expression of different trophic factors involved in non-selective motor innervation during nerve regeneration.
At Columbia University Medical Center the research of Dr. Hernandez-Morato is focused on the role of trophic factors expression in laryngeal muscles in order to enhance the selective reinnervation of the larynx required for the restoration of the voice following nerve injury.
