Huw D. Summers

Huw D. Summers received the B.Sc. degree in physics and the Ph.D. degree in laser physics from Cardiff University, Cardiff, U.K., in 1990 and 1993, respectively. He was an Advanced Research Fellow of the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council, U.K., from 1996 to 2001, working on monolithic microscale laser systems combining solid-state and semiconductor technologies. Since 2008, he has been a Professor with the College of Engineering, Swansea University, Swansea, U.K. His current research interests are in the application of engineering analysis techniques to biological cell populations and the use of flow cytometry for cell population characterization. He has authored over 100 articles and is currently an Editor of a book on nanomedicine. He is a Member of the International Society for Advancement of Cytometry, a Senior Affiliate Member of the Methodist Hospital Research Institute, Houston, TX, USA, and an Associate Editor of the newly launched journal entitled Advances in Physics: X.
