个人简介
For the past thirty years, my educational training and work experience have focused on fluid flow and chemical transport in both porous and fractured media, in the intersections of the hydrosphere, geosphere, and biosphere with relevance to sustainable energy utilization (shale gas and oil production, nuclear energy and waste disposal, geothermal exploration, carbon capture, utilization and storage, and underground hydrogen storage), environmental protection, and water resources management. My current research interests include the application of various innovative experimental and theoretical approaches to characterizing microscopic pore structure, and its emergent macroscopic behavior of chemical transfer in various geologic settings with a particular focus on low-permeability media and fracture-matrix interactions (e.g., enhanced petroleum production in unconventional reservoirs, retention of radionuclides in host rocks and barrier materials for enhanced repository performance, effective storage of carbon dioxide and hydrogen, sustainable geothermal energy mining, and long-term contaminant release from contaminated sediments and aquifers).
