Bio
Hongyu Sun received the B.S. degree in water conservancy and hydropower engineering from the Department of Renewable Energy, North China Electric Power University, Beijing, China, in 2015, and the master's degree in electrical engineering from the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, North China Electric Power University, in 2018. He is currently working toward the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering with the Department of Electrical Engineering, Tsinghua University, Beijing.
He was a Visiting Student with Newcastle University, Newcastle upon Tyne, U.K., in 2017. His research interests include nondestructive evaluation (unidirectional and oblique focusing methods in horizontal and vertical shear waves), acoustic metamaterials (underwater acoustic focusing composite lens), plasma physics (trichel pulse characteristics under the influence of photoionization), and artificial intelligence (using physics-informed deep learning algorithm to achieve the defect identification and quantification of ultrasound and MFL).
Mr. Sun was the recipient of the national scholarships for master/doctoral students, outstanding graduates in Beijing, outstanding thesis awards, etc.
