Hoang Yan Lin was born at Keelung, Taiwan, on 1965. He received the B.S. and Ph.D. degrees from Electrical Engineering Department, National Taiwan University, in 1987 and Graduate Institute of Electrical Engineering, National Taiwan University in 1993, respectively. He worked as a Post-Doctoral researcher and focused on ultra-fast laser optics in Atomic and Molecular Science Institute, Academic Sinica, Taipei, Taiwan, from 1993 to 1995. He worked on diffractive optics, micro-optics, and projection display technology in Opto-Electronics and Systems Laboratories, Industrial Technology Research Institute, Hsinchu, Taiwan, from 1995 to 2005. He joined the faculty and became the Associate Professor of Graduate Institute of Electro-Optical Engineering and Electrical Engineering Department, National Taiwan University in February 2005. His current research interests are design of micro- and nano-optical components, and integration of optical systems with these components. Dr. Lin is a member of SPIE and SID.
