His research lies at the intersection of Human-Computer Interaction, Ubiquitous Computing, and Social Cognition.Through his research, he has contributed methodologically to the ways of acquiring the latent aspects of social context, as well as demonstrated the ways of leveraging this knowledge in designing technologies that extend and support the cognitive, personal, and social processes. The focus of his inquiry, and the context for designing technological interventions has been collaboration studied at different levels: 1) He has studied group interactions with artefacts and demonstrated that the latent information contained in these interactions can foster the design of socially-aware technologies, 2) He has studied large-scale collaboration within built environments and showed that these collaborative practices can inform the design of sustainable and energy efficient offices, and 3) He has studied collaboration between humans and autonomous vehicles (AV's) and the ways in which this collaboration can be supported and improved.
