Kyle has been committed to addressing ecosystem-scale environmental challenges since 2010 with expertise at the interface of ecosystem science and climate policy. He has worked to better characterize the climatic impact of land use change, land management, and ecosystem restoration in a variety of landscapes from the upland sub-tropical forests of southeast Asia to the subsided peatlands of the California Delta. These efforts have led to peer reviewed publications, on-the-ground project implementation, and design of methodologies that guide emissions accounting across the land use sector.
