Current project involved using affinity-purification and mass spectrometry (AP-MS) to identify associated proteins. We identified a new component called PCH1, which is associated with the EC-phytochromes-COP1 interactome in Arabidopsis. PCH1 directly interacts with phytochrome B and serves as a “molecular memory” of the light plants absorb during the day, delaying the start of growth during long nights.
