I am a post-Doc researcher in the Department of Computer Science 8 at the Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg. My current areas of interest for research revolve around developing systems allowing people to effectively model and utilise the data sources they interact with every day. My PhD research focused on modeling and exploiting the huge amount of information available from social interactions on the web such as tagging and product ratings. More recently I have been involved in a number of related projects in the broader fields of information science and machine learning. This includes investigating how people search and re-find information in email clients and how systems can be developed to improve healthcare by better understanding exercise habits and nutritional needs.
