个人简介
For Bhakti Hansoti, M.B.Ch.B., Ph.D., M.P.H., FACEP, training began in the international setting with medical school at the University of Edinburgh and foundation training in London. This transatlantic upbringing and training combined encouraged an appreciation of the diversity of emergency medicine in different resource settings. She completed a residency in emergency medicine at the University of Chicago. Over the years, she has maintained a deep-seated interest in international emergency medicine while working in clinical settings such as Liberia, India, Ghana, Jamaica, China, Nepal, Uganda and South Africa.
Dr. Hansoti first came to Johns Hopkins in 2012 as an international emergency medicine fellow after receiving her undergraduate and medical degrees. After completing her fellowship, she joined the department as a faculty member. During her tenure at Johns Hopkins, Dr. Hansoti completed a master’s degree in public health from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and a doctor of philosophy degree from the University of Cape Town. She has over 50 publications; given numerous invited talks nationally and internationally; held multiple significant national and international leadership roles; and received a Fogarty Fellowship award, a Thrasher Early Career Award and the Johns Hopkins University Clinical Scientist Award.
Dr. Hansoti has achieved nationally recognized success in the areas of research, education, mentorship and advising and program building. She holds several significant service roles at The Johns Hopkins University. She is an active member of the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine Institutional Review Board, serves as associate director for academic programs at the Johns Hopkins Center for Global Health and is co-director for the global health scholarly concentration at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.
Nationally, she currently serves as the learning director for the USAID Sustaining Technical and Analytic Resources program, a multi-million dollar global health training program. She is also known for her work as past president of the Global Emergency Medicine Academy at the Society for Academic Emergency Medicine and the Fogarty Global Health Fellows program.
Through her research endeavors, Dr. Hansoti has already become one of the foremost experts in the field of global emergency medicine and the implementation of emergency department-based triage and HIV/tuberculosis care interventions.
