I'm a CNRS research director in the Marine Glycobiology group at the Station Biologique de Roscoff. I’m combining genomic approaches with crystallographic methods to characterize new marine polysaccharidases. With T. Barbeyron, I annotated the genome of Zobellia galactanivorans, a model marine bacterium for the bioconversion of algal polysaccharides. Notably using Z. galactanivorans, we have recently discovered the complete pathway for carrageenan utilization. Moreover, I analyzed the carbohydrate metabolism in the genome of the marine macroalgae Ectocarpus siliculosus and Chondrus crispus and of the seagrass Zostera marina. Since 2019, I'm a member of the Humboldt network and I can host Feodor Lynen post-doctoral fellows (https://www.humboldt-foundation.de/web/lynen-fellowship.html).
