Research interests
My research interests mainly focus on polymer chemistry toward industrial and biomedical applications:
Green & biobased chemistry: Original monomers and polymers derived from bio-renewable resources; (bio)degradable polymers issued from the biomass
Polymerization: New catalytic systems (metallic, organic, multicomponent); molecular and homogeneous catalysis for polymers; synthesis of (co)polymers (ROP, ROMP, polyaddition, polycondensation, chemical modification, microstructurally-controlled polymers, stereoselective polymerization), characterization of (co)polymers (NMR 1D & 2D, SEC, HPLC, flash chromatography, DSC, TGA, TEM, SEM, FTIR, UV, contact angle); polymerization mechanisms, experimental & theoretical approaches (DFT)
Macromolecular engineering: Functional and reactive (co)polymers; polyesters, polycarbonates, polypeptides, polyurethanes, non-isocyanate polyurethanes (NIPUs), polyhydroxyurethanes, polyolefins, silyl modified polymers (SMPs); Copolymers (linear, star shaped, block, tapered, random): synthesis (sequential/simultaneous copolymerization, chemical modification), self-assembly of amphiphilic copolymers, formulation of nanoparticles
Polymers for the living: Biocompatible & biodegradable polymers; therapeutic polymers & diagnostic polymers: drug-delivery systems, thermogelling polymers, conjugated polymers
Organometallic chemistry: Transition metal complexes, «Single-site» catalysts
