My work focuses on the tripartite interactions of mosquitoes, their microbiome and the pathogens they transmit. I am also investigating methods to manipulate the microbiome to interfere with pathogen transmission in mosquitoes. Currently we are working on Aedes aegypti mosquitoes and Zika virus but these principles could be expanded into other vector-pathogen systems. Recently working on SARS-CoV-2.
