As a neuroscientist, my goal is to unravel the complex mechanisms underlying sensory peripheral neuropathy and neuropathic pain. I focus on understanding how our sensory terminals are maintained in health and disease, and developing strategies to protect them from toxic, metabolic, and genetic changes that can cause neuropathy. Ultimately, my aim is to bridge the gap between basic research and clinical applications, providing insights and tools for the treatment of painful peripheral neuropathy.
