Prof. Goya’s group developed new methods of NPs synthesis, and established the proof of principle of the ‘Trojan Horse strategy’ for oncology therapies. As for the technological activities Prof. Goya has been the head of the design, development and building of unique equipment for measuring power absorption in magnetic hyperthermia, a pioneer system designed to be a fully automatic measuring system. The innovation of these activities made the basis for a spin-off company from the University of Zaragoza, of which he is co-founder and scientific advisor. His work has established an internationally recognized research group in biomedical applications of magnetic nanoparticles, composed of engineers, biologists, chemists, and physicists. In collaboration with top-level immunologists, parasitologist's, and medical doctors, the group has managed to consolidate a common platform in biomedicine, which is reflected in the coordination of highly innovative multinational projects.
