Bio
Giuseppe Mitri received the Laurea degree in physics with astrophysics from the University La Sapienza, Rome, Italy, in 2001 and the Ph.D. degree in science with planetary science from the University of G. D’Annunzio, Chieti, Italy, in 2005.
He is currently a Researcher with the Laboratoire de Planétologie et de Géodynamique, Université de Nantes, Nantes, France. After his Ph.D. dissertation, he worked as a Postdoctoral Scholar with the Lunar and Planetary Laboratory, University of Arizona, Tucson, AZ, USA (2005–2006), the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (2006–2009), Pasadena, CA, USA, and the California Institute of Technology, Pasadena, CA, USA (2009–2010). He is a Cassini Participating Scientist and a Dawn-at-Ceres Guest Investigator. He is a Co-Investigator of three instruments and experiments for ESA’s JUICE mission: the radio science experiment called 3GM, the radar sounder, RIME, and the camera, JANUS. His research interests include planetary science with a major focus on the internal structure and processes, and the evolution of the icy moons of Jupiter and Saturn, and other icy solid bodies, theoretical modelling and the interpretation of data returned by space missions such as radar, gravity, topographic, and imaging data.
