C.P.Girish Kumar is a Senior Scientist and Head, Division of Laboratory Sciences at the ICMR-National Institute of Epidemiology, Chennai. His core research areas are public health microbiology and infectious disease epidemiology. He is currently involved in surveillance studies on acute viral gastroenteritis, acute bacterial IBD, AFI and AMR. He has been part of major studies on HIV, Dengue,Chikungunya, HBV, Diphtheria, Nipah, Influenza, SARS CoV-2, rotavirus vaccine effectiveness etc.
