个人简介
Urologic oncology and functional urology have been the major clinical and research interests of Prof. Novara. Specifically, evaluation of prognostic factors in prostate, kidney, bladder, penile and upper tract cancers has been the major focus of most of his scientific work. Moreover, with regard to surgical issues, robotic surgery (especially application of robotics to prostate, kidney and bladder cancer treatments) has been the topic of several major publications, especially aiming at evaluating functional and patient reported outcomes. Moreover, the scientific activity has been focused on developing training models for use in robotic surgery, and Prof. Novara has been the coordinator of the recently concluded ERUS pilot study II and III for training in robot-assisted radical prostatectomy.
Moreover, Prof. Novara is active member of the European Association of Urology Thromboprophylaxis panel for guidelines development.
