Ghafour Amouzad Mahdiraji received the B.Eng. degree in electrical power engineering from Iran, in 2002, and the M.Eng. degree in communication and computer engineering from the Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, Bangi, Malaysia, in 2006. He received the Ph.D. degree in the field of communications and networks engineering major in optical communication from the Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), Serdang, Malaysia, in 2009. From May 2009 to August 2010, he was a Lecturer in the School of Engineering, UCSI University. Afterward, he joined to the Centre of Excellence for Wireless and Photonics Networks in UPM for around one year as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow. From November 2011 to 2012, he was a Visiting Research Fellow in the Optical Fiber Fabrication Group of Integrated Lightwave Research Group, Department of Electrical Engineering, University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, where he is currently a Senior Lecturer. Apart from optical communication system, his current research interests include radiation dosimeter and design and fabrication of microstructured optical fiber for different sensing applications.
