More recently, in collaboration with Susan Lindsay and many others, I have explored the early development of the human cerebral cortex, profiling its gene expression and molecular neuroanatomy. Currently, we are focusing on the expression and function of neurodevelopmental disease susceptibility genes at early fetal stages, including in organotypic slice cultures of human fetal cerebral cortex. I also have interests in neuroinflammation with regard to mouse models of dementia and viral infection of developing brain.
