Gary J. Cowin

Gary J. Cowin received the B.Sc. (Hons.) degree in organic chemistry from the University of New England, Armidale, Australia, in 1998 and the Ph.D. degree from the Department of Medicine, University of Queensland, Brisbane, Australia, for investigating renal glycine-serine metabolism by 13C-NMR isotopomer analysis. In 1999, he moved to the Centre for Magnetic Resonance, University of Queensland, where he manages Bruker animal and human MRI systems. His research interests include measurement and quantification of fat deposits in humans and animals, hyperpolarized helium imaging, and the effects of gradient nonlinearity.
