My research focuses on understanding the diversity of phytoplankton communities, with the use of IFCB, high throughput sequence (HTS) metabarcoding approach to assess the species diversity. Also, focusing on Harmful Algal species, and generating means for their rapid, accurate detection and identification. My research also includes evaluating changes in the planktonic community using a metatranscriptome approach.
