Gianluca Varano

Gianluca Varano was born in Rome, Italy, in 1982. He received the Laurea degree in mechatronics engineering from the Politecnico di Torino, Turin, Italy, in 2008 and the Ph.D. degree in automation engineering from the University of Rome “Tor Vergata,” Rome, in 2012. He is currently a Postdoctoral Researcher with the University of Rome “Tor Vergata.” He was a Visiting Scholar at The Ohio State University, Columbus, in 2010/2011. His research interests are in dynamic control allocation, optimization, and nonlinear control systems with applications to plasma control in tokamaks.
