Gwen R. Good attended the University of California, Berkeley, from 1952 to 1956, and received the A.B. degree in mathematics from San Jose State Universitv. San Jose. CA. in 1957. From 1958 to 1963, she worked at Lockheed Missiles and Space Company, Palo Alto, CA, and Sunnyvale, CA, as a Scientific Programmer supporting various engineering projects. In 1963, she transferred to the Information Services Department, Lawrence Radiation Laboratory, Berkeley. She returned to Scientific Programrning when she joined the Microwave Laboratory, Hansen Laboratories, Stanford University, Stanford, CA, in 1966. At Stanford, she supported professors and students in a variety of projects, including an advanced electron microscope study. In 1973, she joined Litton Systems, Electron Devices Division, San Carlos, CA, to maintain, utilize, and improve various design and simulation codes. Over the years she advanced to become Computer Systems Manager of the Litton scientific computer cluster in San Carlos, which served at one time over 60 engineers and scientists. Throughout this managerial period, she continued to maintain, upgrade, and help others utilize, a wide variety of scientific computer codes. From April 1998 to the present, she has been an independent consultant for Good Scientific Programming, Menlo Park, CA. She has applied her expertise in code usage and development during this period in support of various programs at Litton EDD, the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center, and Stanford Research Institute.
