Guillermo P. Podestá

Guillermo P. Podestá received the Ph.D. degree in biological oceanography from the University of Miami, FL, USA, in 1987. He was a U.S. National Research Council Post-Doctoral Associate with NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center, where he was involved in remote sensing of ocean color. He is currently a Research Professor with the Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Sciences, University of Miami. His research interests include the use of climate information and forecasts to support decision-making in climate-sensitive sectors such as agricultural production. He is also interested in the modeling of complex social-ecological systems. Dr. Podestá is a member of the American Geophysical Union and the American Meteorological Society.
